Summer art show delights visitors

A month-long summer art show by 4 artists with a collection of 26 works was put on display by Nomad Art Gallery here Saturday.
The show will continue till July 27th featuring diverse ideas of artistic talents including Ufaq Ehsan, Samina Jamshed, Mughees Riaz and Anjum Ayub.Mughees Riaz works with the medium of oil on canvas to explore nature through the genre of landscapes, creating aesthetically beautiful works of art motivated by his relationship with his surroundings.
The viewers can find boats on the banks of river, comfortably inducted buffaloes and birds as an attribute of ‘hope’ personified in several cultures. More >
I love my Islamabad

I was born and raised in Islamabad and the best thing i like about it is its laid back style. The natural beauty surrounding the city is unique and the source of spiritual uplift for many people. If you are a health buff you can take a hike in the mountains surrounding the city. If you are a naturalist you can find many interesting placing to explore new species.
Islamabad was conceived by General Ayub Khan but it was brought to life by all of us Pakistanis.

NA Sports committee acts

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Ijaz Butt is headed for further trouble with the National Assembly’s (NA) Standing Committee on Sports recommending issue of a bailable warrant against him.

Mezzo restaurant review

Mezzo is another popular restaurant of Islamabad serving Continental, Thai and Pakistani food. Their food is really too good and price range per head is around Rs. 400 ($ 7 appox).
The starters and soups at Mezzo are probably the highlight of the meal. The cooking is authentic. In other words there is an absence of the usual ‘garam masala and red chilli powder’ which laces almost all continental cuisine in twin cities.
National Film Academy on Cards in Islamabad

Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) is endeavoring for establishment of a National Film Academy (NFA) in the federal capital to revive the film industry in the country and making quality movies.
To keep the film traditions alive in Pakistan, there is a need for educating the youth with proper training of film productions and direction, said PNCA Director General Tauqeer Nasir while talking to this news agency. The filmmakers in Pakistan are out dated in terms of new technologies, storywriters, directors and creative talents, causing poor quality of movies, he said. More >
